We are a building company

We are a building company that has tried over the years to maintain the art of building main walls, arcs and vaults and are committed to perpetuate this ancient art.

For economic reasons the contemporary architectonic practice has lead to the generalized use of technologies associated mainly with concrete and other materials such as light or heavy metallic structures or any other.

However, this millenarian building technology persists, currently not in use due to lack of supply and lack of knowledge of its existence, namely:

  • The compression construction such as main walls, arcs and vaults are no longer in use due to lack of knowledge of its utility.
  • The general lack of knowledge from the projectors (in particular the architects), to apply these forms and millenarian techniques.
  • These techniques and forms are currently considered onerous and obsolete by the current architectonic way of thinking. There is nothing more wrong than this.
  • It is possible to build objects in a sustainable way (economically and constructively speaking, that integrate these forms and techniques from the past, yet allowing for evolution.
  • Please note that the offer that this company provides constitutes a challenge for everyone involved in particular to the projectors, which in the general mimetic and repetitive frame in which our contemporary Portuguese architecture is turning into, is slowly losing its identity.
  • The identity of the Portuguese contemporary architecture fell into a limb where the main reference is that of the international tendencies. In this context, without any nationalist complexes we find it is about time to rediscover the techniques and idiosyncrasies that are so precious to us.
  • We therefore state that the use of main walls, arcs and vaults should be re-introduced in a current vocabulary constituting a challenge for which we are qualified.
  • It is our wish to mark a solid position and of reference to fill this emptiness and to leave a suggestion to the architects/projectors to consider this possibility/offer which is both affordable and efficient, and which would certainly be integrated into the new architectures, and certainly be added value to the building in general.
  • We are available for any questions or information that aims the reintroduction of these technologies that we are qualified for.
